Went to install my hard fuel line from the pump to carb and found the inlet nipple (From the tank) is in the way. I have a 69 350 with a return line to the tank. The pump I have installed now has the 90 degree inlet on the pump. Similar to a #28194. I’m assuming I need a different version with the straight inlets? #41197???Any help to my waffling would be appreciated thanks
WOW, just checked Rock Auto for a pic for you to reference, they don't even list a pump for AC cars, their all w/o AC. Lemme get a pic of one I have in the garage, hold on This is an Airtex pump for the 350 W/air
Thanks so much Mark. That’s what I have installed. Maybe the hard fuel line I got from Inline Tube is incorrect? Seems that the 90 on the fuel pump is exactly in the way. I’ll get some pics today but feel that the straight down fittings on the other pump will be the ticket. For $16 I’ll give it a try. Oh and for detail I have a 4bbl Quadrajet, TH350, factory AC. Thanks again Mark, a gentleman and scholar
It could very well be, I had the same issue with the line from pump to carb that I ordered from Inline tube and a couple other sources, they weren't bent properly
No problem with my AC pump. The inlet points straight back. Airtex and other remans don't seem to...clocked wrong maybe.
This is an aftermarket, maybe Airtex? But it is azz backwards.....or maybe this style is for the 2bbl carb with a different inlet location and hard line than the 4bbl.? Kevin, maybe yours is an AC rebuild? Guess you have to look in the new AC box to see for yourself when buying.
