Fuel line replacement

The fuel line appears to leave the tank in rubber hose and go into the frame. Later a rubber hose comes out of the frame and goes to the engine. It's hard to tell but is this just one rubber hose? Can I just tape a new hose to it and pull out through?

Sorry, its not that easy! The fuel line is steel from the front to the back. There is a small piece of rubber that goes from the tank to the steel line. The steel line comes out of the engine cradle up front and ends. There is a piece of rubber that goes from the steel line to the fuel pump

Anyone know how to get at the rubber hose to steel line connections which I assume to be inside the boxed X frame?

Whats the actual issue? Is the rubber no good or is it leaking from somewhere under the car? If it's just a matter of replacing the rubber line, it's just a matter of removing the hose clamps and replacing the rubber.

The steel line isn't inside the frame. It runs along the frame

    Hmm,

The rubber is being replaced as a preventative measure. The car is in Washington state where a friend is tinkering on it before I drive it back to Michigan. He seemed to think it ran in the rail. I'll have him take another look.

Is the car you are working on the Electra in your avatar?
If hoses are running inside frame its possible a previous owner bypassed the original steel lines when they rusted out and ran all hose inside frame.

Yeah, my apologies, this is for a 1964 Buick Electra.

Are the connections to the rubber line within the frame as well? It doesn't seem like it is one piece of hose.

The rubber from the tank to the steel line on the chassis is only a few inches long. Its not within the frame at all. A small length of rubber hose and two hose clamps.

Unless as the other Jason brought up, it could of been changed with rubber all the way. Its a 50+ year old car, so anything is possible

These 64's have L...o...n...g rubber hoses. nasty to get at, but the rubber meets the metal line before the metal dissappears into the frame IIRM in front of the passenger wheel house in back. Front is similar with long rubber.

Maybe I can take a look at it tonight and describe better, maybe get a picture.

I'll pass that info on to my buddy in WA. Thanks

Ok so the metal line is actually on the passenger side outboard of the chassis towards the outside of the car.
It is just a rubber fuel line that crosses through the chassis at the engine bay.
