    Hi,

My fuel gauge in my '72 skylark 350-4 is stuck in the full position, prior to that the gauge was working but I noticed a couble of times it wouldn't read the fuel level until it seemed like it warmed up, or it took a couple of minutes to move. I'm not sure if it's an electrical or sending unit problem.

Thats for anything that can be suggested to fix this.

Wow, stupid me I just noticed there's a post someone posted the same as mine, I should have checked first. I'll go ahead and follow that one so no one has to double post answers.

    thanks,

    Brad

Check the ground wire from the tank sending unit.

Thanks! I'll check that this weekend. Hopefully that'll take care of it.

Same thing here. Has worked fine for almost 50 years but all the sudden is pegged on Full. Checked ground wire it is still solidly in place so no idea what is going on there.

I'm hoping it's just the ground, if not I may have to drop the tank....

I had some time today to put the Skylark up on jack stands to see about the ground wire. Sure enough I found it above the gas tank on the left hand side, the ground was very corroded so I unscrewed it and wired brushed the conector, screw and where it screws into the floor pan. That did the trick, alls well with the fuel gauge!

Thanks for all the help you guys!
