Heres the deal. Running an areomotive a1000 pump. Fuel line is 1/2 in runnign into the 3/8 carb lines. Return line is 19/32 fuel line. Using a 4309 mallory bypass. Gauge on the bypass is registering at less than 1 lb. Using a pce of **** barry gant 650 blow thru carb. I think the carb is ********. Any ideas. Anyone have a good blow thru carb for sale!!!!!!!! Running a Mark Burton 350 twin turbo set up. HELP.......
First the fuel line is wrong. The feed back line (return line) should be the same size or one size bigger for the regulator to work properly. Carburator being a piece of ___, has nothing to do with fuel pressure. How are you reading the fuel pressure? Had that regulator for awhile, but the one I have now is better (have an Automotive now). Fuel system/pressure is important for an engine with boost to live and make power. If you do not have an air/fuel ratio monitor (like me) make sure you read your plugs regularly.
That makes sense with the fuel lines(that was an oversight on my part).... Pressure gauge directly on the regulator.
Be sure to double check what should be the pressure line and which should be return. The regulator we set up was not real clear, and couldn't build pressure. Called the tech support and found that I needed to change the location of lines on regulator. they said it was common problem since instructions were not clear.
Regardless of the pressure being low, fuel out the venturi is too high of float level. Could be a clogged needle/seat, or simply set too high.
Could be a float set to high a damaged or stuck float would have the fuel come out of the vent. What concerns m is that he says he only has one pound of fuel pressure.
Problem solved, my own stupidity!!!!!!!!! Let's just leave it at that. Now just need to get some oil pressure and get thing thing started........
Been there.. BTW I have the same identical setup with the fuel pump and regulator and carb.. I run about 8psi..
