I did a dozen or so searches and found only a few images, but no clear answer was found for my question.
What are the differences in the fuel doors?
I have a 71 and want to be sure and have the right door.
The manuals for 71 show a small retaining lip at the top of the door, but, these are very small pictures.
In general, are there differences and what are they?
Or, where is that thread that already shares this?
    Thanks in advance!

70 is unique or maybe earlier cars used it too? 70 was dull galvanized and had elongated triangle. 71 used two different ones. Early to mid 71 was painted black and had the fold over lip so no screws were needed at top. Late 71 -72 went back to galvanized and lost the top lip but had different geometric shapes than 70. I can identify if someone posts pictures.

A 70 will not bolt up to a 71-72 due to different bolt hole spacing.
