First, sorry for the book. Hoping to address most questions as best I can. Offered here first before craigslist or any where else. Also cheaper than I will ask there.

I'm looking at the 72 Skylark for sale here locally and I don't have room in the Garagemahal (or my wife's mind) for 3 Buicks so something has to go. Since I've had my 70 Stage 1 for 37 years, this one gets selected.

I bought this Buick out of western PA in 2014 from the previous owner that bought it for his wife in the mid 70s. It has been to GS Nats in BG before. It was painted red around 1978 and still has G70-14 tires on Buick 14" chrome wheels with center caps. She passed away and he stored it for the last 25+ years with only periodic usage to keep it working. He finally decided to get rid of it and that's when I bought it. I have had it a little over 3 years. It has just under 92,000 original miles on it. I bought it to modify and make a daily driver out of but it was too original to start hacking on beyond what could go back easily.

I'm asking $14,500 for it with all the extra stock parts I have replaced and the "tasteful" mods I've made. If you want it more original, we can negotiate down. Located in Bowling Green, KY.

Details: 92,000 mile, 1971 GS 350, non-air, power steering, M21 4-speed, 3.08:1 8.5 posi, bucket seats, gauge set, clock in dash (works but doesn't keep good time), factory AM radio, factory under dash 8 track player, original spare & jack. Currently has a T-handle but an original white 4-speed ball is included. Unsure if that is original or not.

Trunk is solid. Car was undercoated and not original color, last painted in late 70s. Has original motor, trans & rear as far as I know but has Holley carb, not quadraject. The 4 speed shifts well, clutch feels solid and everything works except the key-in-ignition buzzer. It just started staying on even when the key is out.

The paint has some dings, mostly from the previous owner hitting it with his tractor while it was stored in the barn for the last 25 years, only being driven a few times a year and on a battery tender. His dearly departed wife loved the Buick and it was her car. Once she passed, it stopped being used much.

It is a 10' car and looks decent until you get closer. The paint has some staining/spotting that doesn't show as well in photos but does in person. Once quarter needs some work but still has good paint on it. One front fender will also probably need to be fixed if painting. I have a patch panel for the passenger inner fender as I think the under battery is eaten up. Windshield appears to be original and has at least once decent chip but no long crack lines.

If you want some specific pictures of some specific area, let me know and I'll try to accommodate.

    Tasteful Mods (can be reversed):
I've added power disc brakes, quick ratio steering, boxed rear control arms, rear sway bar, Trans Am front sway bar with urethane bushings, tubular upper A-arms with long ball joints and recurved the distributor.

Upgrades since I've owned it: Rechromed rear bumper, decent driver front bumper that might need chroming but looks OK now. Legendary Interiors front buckets.

Spare Parts: If the buyer is interested, for an additional price I would part with any of the following: full Torque Tech 2.5" exhaust pipes without mufflers or down pipes, very nice used Hooker headers, sport mirrors, Cars new external door handles and a driver quality set of 15" Buick chrome wheels.

No clue. Maybe his wife wanted it that color. They did a pretty good job of changing the color. Only way to see it is under the trunk weather strip.

Before those cars were 10 years old,the era of people didn't like those colors. You got red & blue for most of them. Things have come full circle now, where people like those shades of golds, greens, etc.
    Nice car!

For now I'm going to try to match the red on my car and do some touchups. But when and if I ever need to repaint. 53A Cortez it will be. Only bad thing is it will need to be taken to bare metal before the repaint... Cortez Gold with white interior and Sun Coupe top.

very rare car, just over 300 made iirc. Interesting that the 1/2 top was added. Wife must've seen a Skylark and liked that look.

I am not sure who put the roof on it. The guy I bought it from doesn't remember adding it so it could have been in the early to mid 70s.

I'm selling it to buy jfmoore79's Skylark. If I don't sell this, I'm going to make more permanent changes to it like rear disc brakes, a 5 speed manual, spoilers, bigger wheels & tires, Vintage Air, nice stereo with backup camera and maybe freshen my spare 455...

Some great 350 builds happening & so few 350 4-sp cars left. GLWS. Wish I could do it.

Those aren't hard obstacles if you really, REALLY want it. There's some wiggle room for a Buick brethren and it does drive but I wouldn't trust the tires more than 50 miles since they are almost 40 years old. I do have a set of BFGs on old rusty 15" rims I could throw on it to get you home. Nearly a full tank of gas and oil was changed this spring.
