Has anyone ever purchased the tubular front control arms from The Parts Place? I'm curious of the quality and function, although the price probably is a clue.

The cheaper ones are china copies of the better ones.

CPP has nice arms for the money.

I have the cheaper(Ebay) tubular control arms on both my cars. But,beware, you must replace the cheap ball joints in both upper and lowers. The are a bit heavier weight wise, but still nicer than stock units My car aligned well and drives well with them on. This is a street car and doesn't require $1000 suspension. My other car I am building also has tubular uppers and lowers with Wilwood brakes.Everything lined up well too..

Who’s the manufacturer? I didn’t see it in your post.

Do any of the good upper tubular a-arms have a good weight savings compared to the stock uppers?

TRZ is what you want for weight savings

I have a set of CPP arms with disc brake spindles still attached collecting dust in my garage. They were great on my 72. I was able to get a reasonable amount of caster with them versus the stock arms.

I bought some cheap ebay tubular upper and lowers. The uppers were lighter than stock but the lowers were heavier so it was about a wash. DO NOT RUN the ball joints. I ran the cheap included lowers and one shattered the nut and came loose on me. Had to get my car towed and dinged up the inner fender.

I got a pair of CPP lowers for my 70. All in all,I think they are a nice arm. They claim they are good for coil spring AND coilovers. I was going to use them for coilovers, but I think they could have been made better in the shock mount area, for a coilover, due to where you are increasing the load.
I am not a fan of their tech support. They don’t seem to know anything except how to take down payment information.

The TRZ arms are the only real way to get a lighter arm,but they are for drag race only. There are no end link mounts.
All of your other arms from Global West,Hotchkis,UMI,BMR,PST,etc, are all great,well-built arms, but are heavier.
I have a pair of Global West lowers on another chassis that I am building. I got the ones built specifically for coilovers and no end link mounts. I bought the red urethane boots separate.

Global west makes lighter weight by 1 pound each drag race upper arms but lowers are heavier.
