I am confused about the correct colour for the coil springs and steering linkage.

The chart at the beginning of this section lists the steering centre link as black, yet I am seeing numerous concours restos (Jim Weise GSX to cite one example) with a natural cast colour centre link. Which is now considered to be correct?

If natural cast colour is now the accepted norm, then perhaps the table/chart at the beginning of this section should be either amended, or replaced with a more up-to-date version. I am sure that other components may have changed as well.

As for coil springs, I have read where they should be a natural cast colour, and seen some restos as such, yet Jim's GSX resto shows black coils. Again, which is correct?

Finally, this may seem trivial, but that is how my brain works. What is the correct colour for the pinch clamps used to hold the radiator overflow hose to the rad and overflow tank, and what is the correct colour clamp for the overflow tank overflow hose? Again, looking at numerous restos, I have seen red, green and black.

I am sure I have other issues, but I will save them for another day.

    Cheers

When I remove the original springs from m y back in 2001, there were still a little bit of black paint on them. I would assume that the company manufacturing the springs would have painted them black to retard rusting.
