Front end parts identification

    They are 71/72 parts

    Marc, you also have the wrong hardware holding the grille to the bracket. Things like the bracket, handle and hardware are symptomatic of a car hit in the front. That means there are probably many more things like that stuff, missing or wrong around the core support.

    There will be a stamp near the drivers front headlamp bucket on the core support the says “71-72”. The 70 versus the 71-72 core supports are close but not identical. The NOS 71-2 units are what you commonly see as replacements and they do interchange.

    What are the correct part numbers? I am going to see if I can find them.

    71-72 core support has white plastic tabs the headlights rub against. In 70 they were metal and a raised up area that was part of the support.
