I am looking to get some recommendations on what springs people have used. I am completely rebuilding my 72 GS 350 and want a set of springs that will not look like I am not driving a 4wd truck and ride close to stock ride height. Do the springs differ from skylark and GS's any thoughts. Thanks :beer

Last summer I installed a set of the GSCA ride and handling springs in our 72 Stage 1 conv. and was really happy with them. The fronts were a constant rate and the rears were a variable rate. I think they run about $250 plus UPS.

Also a company by the name of Coil Spring Specialties in St. Marys, KS builds springs to order for the exact application. You can go on their website and get an exact price quote with shipping for your exact application. www.coilsprings.com

Another option is to buy Moog or TRW springs from Summit or one of those large vendors as they have some really good pricing. Most of the other vendors sell the Moog or TRW springs, but charge considerably more for them.
So there is no use in paying a bunch more for the same brand.

Thanks for the reply, I think I will be using the Moog 5536 for this application I have asked a few others about the ride height issue and the consensus say to use the 5536 moog. Thanks for your input. :beer

    You might try

www.espo.com or Rock auto for prices

I looked at rock auto and they sell AC Delco. I assume this is rebadged TRW stuff as the prices are the same as local parts stores that carry the TRW brand. All moog stuff is in the 120 to 130 range either by shipping or from the local parts house. I will look at Espo. Thanks for your thoughts Jim. :TU:

My Skyalrk will be lowered, but I've heart good things about the Moog springs for stock ride height. Good luck and POST SOME PHOTOS!

I ordered Moog springs and they sent me the wrong ones. Not to mention I waited 4 weeks to get them. This is what happened...
    Can you say T-r-u-c-k?

So I was a little angry that they sent the wrong ones and decided to buy the Hotchkis 1" lowering spring. I put them in and after a few months of settling. Perfect.

This is why I replaced them in the first place. It had drag racing coils for weight transfer and the front was way out off alignment as you can see. I replaced the whole front end suspension with Hotchkis parts. I used Moog upper and lower ball joints.

This is how it sits now a year later at the local Drive In with my Cousin and his 69 GTO.
Who's is faster you ask? The GS is, but we just took his 455 to the engine builder last week so it will be close.

I found the pictures of the three different springs I had in the car.
I hope this helps some. I would recommend the Hotchkis coils for the 350 small block and 455 big block.
