Got a quote from New England Trim to recover the seat and backrest of the Electra front bench. It could be a day or two work so I have to either take two cars up and back, leaving the Electra overnight, or just take the seat which means two trips in only one vehicle.

Looking for insights for how big a job the bench removal process is.

It's an every-which-way power adjustable bench so can it be removed without lifting the entire power frame or is it a nightmare of wires, motors, gears, rods and magic?

    Cheers

The power seat stuff is bolted to the seat. So it should be just a matter of unplugging the orange power wire and taking out the 4 bolts holding the seat in. Its a little heavy and awkward, so your going to need a helper that's got some strength. I don't think you can use the wife for this.

I took my 4 way pwr bench out of the GS myself to recover bottoms & backs. Take the backs off first. It's doable.

Jason is right. And it's heavy as hell. If it's a 4 door, I don't think you'll be taking the back off inside the car. Just get a strong partner and muscle the whole thing out.

    Thanks for the info.

She who must be obeyed is slight of build but not to be trifled with! I'm going to do some exploratory peeking and see how it goes. Worst case scenario is we can't lift the darn thing out and I just bolt it back down.

    Cheers!
