Do you still have this available? Was the block sonic tested and if so do you know what the numbers came out? thanks
block was not tested, and was NOT bored! there was no obvious core shift, as inspected by myself, and my machinest. it had less than .001 taper,(cyl) this is a STOCK motor not a race motor, built to stock specs, I do have it, and have a interested party, but not received and $$ THX
I found a local block, so let me get that measured. Don't hold it for me, but I will keep it in mind.
Are any of the oil mods done on the cover or block? What brand bearings, rings, etc? Are you willing to ship this? Thank you.
block doesn't need any mods, as its a later block, Timing cover was cleaned ,inspected, and end clearance set. rings were napa replacement rings. end gaps checked and set. bearings were also Napa replacement. this is a stock build, exception... has stage one cam, and bigger valve springs. shipping would be on you, I can strap it on a pallet, I do have some engine bags, (very tough , thick ,extra large ) that I can cover it with.
anyone interested in this motor? $1850 and its yours, had one person , but after 2 months.............. thinking of donating it to local school, and take the write off,
really puzzling to me too, I work part time at a machine shop, and the cost of parts and machine shop labor , makes this a pretty good deal.
Oh I know who ever gets this is miles and dollars ahead on building one from scratch and having to have all this work done. I'm slowly building one myself and I say slowly cause the expenses/funds required are not in my budget so a bit at a time is all I can do. If it's not in your way or an inconvenience to store it maybe sit on it until spring/summer cause we all know somebody's gonna blow a motor racing and need something quick and easy to drop in to carry on with the season
