Car is a 1965 Skylark Convert with a 340 nailhead. Have two core/freeze plugs weeping. One driver side, one pass side. Each one is behind the motor mount. What is the possibility of replacing them without pulling engine. Thinking I can take the mounts loose, jack up the engine and knock old ones out. Concerned I will not have enough room to knock new ones in.

Any suggestions? Input? Thanks in advance!

While you are at it replace all the freeze plugs you can get to. It's just a matter of time before others will start. Usually the ones in the rear leak 1st. Get old bent up thin screwdrivers & clean out what you can & flush with water. It gets to be a messy job. Go to the "Zone" or "Advanced" & borrow the installation tool. Makes it much easier because you can start them straight even at an angle.

Just a followup... Was able to take mounts loose/jack motor up and remove old plugs. Did not have enough room to tap new plugs straight in but got a freeze plug installation tool with a 45* end and swivel head and knocked them right in.
Having the right tool made all the difference..
