    Picked up this Fremont built '71 today. The trim tag is different than my Flint and Wilmington cars. Anyone know what the B80 and the numbers to the right of the build date represent? Also, the vinyl top has been removed, what color does the F represent?

    Thanks,
    Donny

    B80 = Roof drip mouldings.

    F = Dark Brown.

    The numbers after build date ???? I thought somebody on this board said it had something to do with tracking at Fremont :Do No:

    They are batch codes and were used by some Fisher body plants to "batch" a series of options together into one number. No valid info has ever been found to decode them.

    Thanks for the info gentlemen. That's bizarre that they would choose that one code to put on the trim tag. What was the logic for that? Is that the only RPO that shows up there?

    Perhaps it is for something that the Fisher body plant needed to do.

    Cars with a B80 code have a different drip rail than the non B80 cars.

    The tag gives the body shop information on what rails to weld on.

    Would a vinyl top have something to do with that?

    Any chance you have the build sheet for this car? For Fremont, the numbers after the date code will appear on the build sheet.
