    John,
I would suggest you give Art Morrison a call. They have custon bent mandrel rails for your car with step by step instructions. I have used some of his stuff in the past .

Unless your looking to build a race car, the easiest route is to lop off the rear frame section from another "same breed" vehicle...weld it in and go.

Agree with Mr Big, esp if the center frame rails are solid. On '68-72 A-body 2 door frames, there will be a weld seam on the outer frame rail above the rear wheel well area. By carefully cutting & grinding, one can remove & later splice the rear rails to the forward frame section exactly at where the factory welded the frame together. Have gone through this several times on resto's, really not that hard.

Similiar deal... next week, have a frame going out to powdercoaters for a '70 GTO hardtop. Local owner's car was recently stolen & wrecked in lh fender jam area & that portion of the original frame was destroyed. Rear lh frame rail was sectioned out yesterday. Far back on this lh rail, the 2 letter ID code, frame manufacturer, date, & the GTO's partial VIN are stamped. With just a few hours work tomorrow, the GTO's original LH rear rail will be in the "new" '70 LeMans donor frame. It doesn't get much better, esp considering this '70 GTO had suffered frame cradle sag & had been twice "jacked" at local frame shop. The LeMans frame, on the other hand is relatively low mile & has not been through 300,000 hard miles.

Even better... get the car up on a lift. Ck the entire frames condition. Might take a look around the seam area, & see if the job is feasible. Good luck.

    Got Posi?

    Replace the frame-

Its work, but I've seen a-body frames go for 2 or 3 hundred-
