Wow James that is as perfect as they come,! My next one that I’m starting is the same options but another Sherwood green one but power drum; that white int really pops which mine has too along with the white top and ac; and consolette, what’s the build date? Mines 09a sold new in Elpaso gregg
Looks good James. Looks like the same color combo as the car I'm working on and certainly look forward to getting color on it.
The dash and cowl area are are finished and ready for filler. Now working on the passenger side floor...
Finishing up the floors and just need to replace the under rear seat area then it is on to the trunk.
Thanks guys! Bill the body was blasted but I used chemical striped and sanding for the external sheet metal.
More progress with the complete trunk floor now in place and the rear brace getting ready to go in. If anyone is wondering if the '70 Chevelle complete floor from AMD will fit - it does and is a very nice piece. Only a few small differences mainly where the fuel sending wire is attached as well as a couple of holes that are not there in this area. You'll have to drill these as well as reuse the strap for the gas tank vent from your old floor. The rear portion of the Chevelle floor is also removed carefully by drilling out the spot welds, etc. and cutting above the bend in the floor, but is pretty easy and way better than trying to patch it all up.
Drop off and wheel houses are next - than seam sealer, DP90 and ready to go back on the frame. Once back on, I'll tackle the rear seat divider, and trunk tail panel - man this is a lot of work!
Now in DP90 and will be installing the body back on the completed frame in a couple of days in order to finish the metal repairs prior to sending to paint.
Scott, that's Excellent work you're doing!! Hard work; but the finished product will deliver enough reward to make it all worth while! Keep the updates coming...
Managed to get the body back on the completed frame this weekend. Went pretty easy with an engine hoist at either end and lowered down slowly. Was nice a level and using the factory drop pin locations, set it right where it needed to be on the frame. From here, I can repair the seat divider/package try area as well as the trunk tail panel. Install the core support, radiator, etc. then it is off to the final paint and body work that is beyond my current skill level in early September.
