Ask me if I care. I'm happy where I'm at. Besides, since you want to make this personal, I'll settle for just being smarter than a "genius" like you. :moonu:
:moonu: back at you jap boy:moonu: :boring: your the one that said you weren't rolling in dough..... o No: if your so much smarter that me maybe you would be later :moonu: :blast:
Jap boy? Thanks for proving my point about who's smarter. If you think money is so important, then fine. I don't. You're just acting like a child because you can't out debate me...big surprise there. Post when you have some intelligent to say. I should expect that to happen...never, right? I'll go ahead and walk since people like you got another thread deleted for similar reasons...trying to debate things way over your head.
It's funny that J.D. Power and even Consumer Reports rate Buick above Honda and Toyota. Where is the lack of quality in say a 97 to 03 Regal GS? Nicely styled interior with quality pieces, smooth ride, nice handling, and more power AND fuel economy than a stinking, boring Camry. I've got 117K on mine (98)and race it (14.11) and still get 30 mpg. I drive the Regal GS because it is a better car and I don't even like FWD. Oh I forgot it's reliable too.... Sure there have been some duds in the GM line over the years but to say all are junk is just lame. Also, most of the 100K extended warrantys are now based on dealers servicing at all the intervals. I know someone who just paid $700 for routine 24K service of their Hyundai. My daughter has an extended warranty on her 98 Audi A4 and the trans flares up to 5000 on part throttle shifts sometimes but the warranty co won't do anything until it actually breaks down and has to be towed! My point being that these long warranties are not what people think they are. Plus people THINK that a certain car is better because it has a 100K warranty. Not necessarily true.
I guess Ill chime in here as well. I have had MANY cars over the years including...... Buicks- 64,69,2/70,71,82,83,87 Chevys- 68,71,76,79,82,84,86,85,89,92,94,95 Pontiacs- 67,79,84,86,89 Fords-83,84,86 Dodges- 79,81,84 Jaguars- 76,79 Nissans- 83,87,90,93 Toyotas- 81,82,2/83,86,87,2/88,90 And thats just off the top of my head, Im sure Im forgetting some. Of all my cars my Toyotas have been BY FAR the most reliable :3gears: The least have been ford and nissan :blast: FYI, the engine in my 88 ''Toy'' truck is on its third body (damned deer) and has over 320,000 and runs like a new one.
Consumer reports has Buick above Honda and Toyota? I don't recall seeing that. I saw some good ratings for some Buicks, but also some bad ones for others. Toyota and Honda had nothing but good ratings accross the board. I've never been a fan of the JD Powers "Initial Quality" survey. Not enough time for reliable info. Ask people about the car 2-3 years down the line. BQuick, I also agree that not all GM products are junk and haven't made that arguement. BTW, the 97-99 (and maybe later) Regal has been rated fair to poor in electrical issues by CR, IIRC. Me, I like them. I still want a Regal GS. I just don't want the payments. What I'd like to hear is an intelligent arguement proving how buying American in this day and age will guarantee good paying American jobs for decades to come. Anyone can make a claim. Let's hear something other than emotion in backing that up.
Every Japanese car my family or friends have had that was more than 8 yrs old or so that had torn CV joint boots. Ended up putting whole axles on them. NONE of the GM cars that we have had have ever had one needing CV boot replacement and some are 20 yrs old and have 200K plus miles. I really don't LIKE repairing cars. Why would I have GM? Because stupid stuff like CV joint boots and timing belts don't have to be replaced.
DECEMBER 8, 2003 Business Week When Flawless Isn't Enough For Car Buyers The Big Three are catching up in quality, but they have miles to go on the wow factor Quick: can you name the most reliable midsize sedan in America? Would you believe it's the Buick Regal, made by General Motors Corp.? That's what Consumer Reports' latest reliability rankings found. The overlooked Regal beat out the venerable Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. That's because GM, like its Detroit rivals, has been steadily improving its quality for years and is narrowing the gap with the best of the Japanese in both initial quality and long-term dependability surveys. _____________________ Then GM drops the Regal entirely. Boneheads.......
YES!!!! :beer Thanks for the info BQuick. Now if we can just get people to buy them before they turn 69!
The other article I was reading said the Toyota was living it's nightmare....waking up to being a Buick. (implying geezers, stoginess and reliability) :blast: I see alot of geezers barely doing the speed limit in Camrys. :blast: Oh well....alot of the "tuners" over at RegalGS.org and younger......
That could be true. My mom has a 2001 Camry. It's a darn nice car. For basic transportation, even I'd buy one. I used to make fun of them too. ou: I think that's why they came out with the SCION line. They understand how vital the youth market can be down the line.
Gotta agree with you there Patrick. ________________________ It's amazing how some people will use something that happened with a certain car years ago and never consider the brand again. A guy at work here had a 1980 Chevy Monza with a manual trans and kept complaining that it would grind going into reverse. Made them put another trans in and it did the same thing.....then sold it and vows to this day to never buy GM. I told him reverse wasn't syncronized on most trans and to putting it into 2nd before reverse and it would not have ground. He said it should not have been necessary. My girfriend won't buy BP gas cuz 20 yrs ago she got a bad batch. Pretty narrow minded if you ask me. Bruce
I know Im going to piss some people off but....... And I mean NO disrespect to Canadians. Isnt it more than a little racist (and Im usualy the last one to use that word) to have NO problems driving a Canadian built GM car, while brow-beating people for driving American built ''jap'' cars o No: I mean, I just dont get it. I have friends that work in the Toyota plant in my state. My step-dad is one of those ''buy Amurikun'' types and drives an '04 Chevy 4X4, with a red maple leaf on the door jamb. Hes also the guy that made fun of my brother's '03 Camry, as ''jap crap'' Only problem is, the Camry's engine was made here in WV and the car was built in Indiana :error: If its not racism, what is it ou: Because, unless we annex Canada, it aint ''patriotism''. :Smarty: Flame retardent underware *check*
