Man I'd be one nervous SOB driving that truck an trailer around... probably only drive late at night 20 MPH max with the hazards on. What does the TCS do? IS that one of those nutty vacuum advance deals?
OMG!!! The tires touched dirt!!!  I thought you guys would have rolled out carpeting or something! Is that a smile I see on Jim's face? Will the car be attending the 07 BPG Nats? You better clear out a spare room for all the trophies
Jim,is the car going to be displayed or judged at the AACA Hornets Nest Region in the future?I would not pass the chance to look at the car in such a setting.Congratulations to both you and JW,beautiful car!
I doubt it. I hate the transportation and related security issues. You may have to travel to Grille 57 in Garner. There is no point in having one judged unless it is a Buick only national event as most know little of Buicks.
JW, I just went thru 3 sets of fenders I have, 1231386.....none of them have holes as indicated by the arrows in the pic you provided. Any ideas what these holes are for or what caused them........I noticed them as soon as you posted the pic but I had to confirm the holes with my fenders. Is it a year by year fender issue? Anyone else know??? Thanks!
There's actually at least another one who has these holes ... Does Jim or Jim has a "before pic to visualize the quality of work that has been done ! Congratulation for this rebirth :TU:
I just looked at my X and the drivers side fender has those holes, it was replaced in 1978 before I bought my car.
Guys, The 2 holes in each fender, near the hood-fender rubber bumpers are actually locater holes for alignment pins, and were used when the fenders were assembled. I think the front holes are round and the rear ones are oval. Duane
Jim' GSX After many a day looking at the pictures of JW and crews work , I have to say " one fine example of once was and what is again today ". Well done .
Again I say -- You gotta see it in the flesh ( or paint) to really get the full effect of this car. It is a piece of work ( art ) !!!!
Jim L. Congrats (again) I really hope to see your car in person someday!! I must have looked at the pics 8 or 9 times now. Awesome example of Buicks Pride & Joy!! Jim W. You guys all deserve a pat on the back!! Nice work!
I also have gone back looking at the pics over and over numerous times... In picture #4 on the outside of the rear of each muffler there appears to be a square piece of metal with a round object in the center, is that a muffler hanger? More pictures please, when time allows... JW, you and your crew have set the standard for restorations and should really be commended. I cant wait to see pics of the "other car" Bert
alignment holes Just checked some of my cars on the alignment holes. My 70 QQ has none on drivers side, but has them on the passenger side. I think that fender has been replaced. My 70 10/10 car has none and I think the fenders are original. My 71 gsx has holes both sides. My 70 stage 1 convertible has none. My 70 stage 1 hardtop has none. My 70 gs 455 convertable has none. My 72 suncoupe does have.them both sides. I can check some of my other cars at home but it seems maybe later model fenders have the alingment holes? Also checked the steering box on my 70gs 455 convertible. Its an untouched 50,000 numbers car and it looks like the body of it is unpainted original cast color and the adjustment plate is aluminum and untouched. I don't know if this help anyone. Also, excellent car Jim. Is it still at your shop? Maybe I'll get to see it this weekend. Thanks,Scott
