    Tom,
I am assuming you mean that the float level is low. Here is a quote from Holley.

To adjust the fuel level you will need to take out the sight plug in the side of the fuel bowl and with it running Loosen the lock screw on top of the fuel bowl and turn the nut clockwise to lower the level or counter clockwise to bring up the level you want it to be at the bottom of the sight hole If you turned it too far down it might have bent the tang on the float. to get back to a starting place, you will need to take out the lock screw and turn the nut so the needle & seat is 1/2 way through the thickness of the nut then put the screw back in, then take the fuel bowl off and hold it upside down & level then bend the tang on the float so the float is level in the center of the fuel bowl. This will get you back to a starting place.

This is an old thread so I hope no one minds my jumping in?
I was trying to set the float level today on my 4160 600 CFM.

The last owner of my car put it on the 430ci and threw away the original carb...

I was all set to replace it with a Rochester 750 (or an 800 I have that needs rebuilding eventually) and had it off the car on the bench. The 750 needs some re-working so I grabbed the Holley off the bench and realized that my 4 year old had pulled the float adjustment screws and valves out... He's learning too fast! (We spend an hour or so each night in the garage)

So anyway, trying to adjust the floats today... The front (primary?) adjusted fine. Level just below the site hole.

The rear (secondaries?) would not lower enough to stop flowing out of the hole even with the screw all the way down. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

BTW- I did try to adjust with the car running but fuel came out the top at the adjusting screws, both front and back. Went back to the old way of running the car and then stopping and checking the levels and adjusting.

Also the adjusting screws/valves are new from a Quick Kit.

    Thanks!

Change the needle and seat with a known good one or new.

Thanks. It was new from the quick kit, but I'll try the old one and see if that works. Also was told to check the tab on the float if another needle does not work...
