Flint native whose been in Fla for 30 years.

Hey everyone.
I'm a newbie on here and have spent the better part of the last 5 days combing through the entire site. I've been taking in alot of the conversations and pics of members rides.
I grew up in Flint, my dad did 41 plus years at Buick and my gramps was one of Buicks wood pattern makers right after WW2. He retired in 78.
I have an 87 GN, 32,000 miles and the car and I have been on Fantomworks.
Have a 70 GS 455, Flint built and a 50,000 mile original paint, 4-speed 401 Gran Sport. I was just accepted into the 2019 Boca Raton Concours De'Elegance, unrestored original class with the nailhead.
Been to numerous B2B but haven't been up in a few years now.

Welcome aboard, Mike. I left Flushing for college back in '90, so that was the end of "playing" on Flint's streets back in the day for me.

How funny. I spent my last years in high school living with my grandparents in Flushing. We lived at the top of Pasadena where it turned into Warner Rd on its way to Flushing Rd. I graduated from Powers.

 

I left West Bloomfield in 94, spent five years in Atlanta and then moved to Sarasota in 99. A couple of my cars in my driveway a few years ago. Down to just the yellow one right now. Had it since 79. My 70 GS 455 Welcome!

I'm in Hobe Sound which is Martin County. Just north of Jupiter if you're familiar with that.

 

I was only in Virginia to see a neuro surgeon thinking I was going to have to undergo back surgery. You probably can't tell from the short clips on the show but I was in such pain that I could barely squat down or walk long distances.
Lost my L4-L5 in Camp Pendleton just a few months before.

 

Your pics just came through doc. My dream car has always been a GSX. My parents have a place in Venice, is that near you?

 

That sucks. Nothing worse than chronic pain except to throw in some radiculopathy.

 

Welcome aboard. I'm in NY, but snow bird in Royal Palm Beach. There's a few Buick guys in the area. John Carrol (waterboy) had a get together at his house last year. We're looking to plan something again this year. It would be great if you could make it.

Hey Fred! This is like a 3 way conversation, but with lots of participants. Mike, I'm very familiar with Hobe Sound. When I was in high school I got busted by the Hobe Sound Police for driving my girlfriend's VW bug on the beach. Sure was glad my dad was the Chief of our town's volunteer fire department. I didn't even get a ticket! As for the girl friend and her car... her dad hated me. End of that story.
Fred is right, I'm about 30 minutes south of you, and we are going to have another South Florida Buick Get Together soon. Probably January or February when Fred is down here. I'm into the older GSs and my son is into the GNs. We have a bunch of friends on both sides of the fence. You'll have to decide which car you want to bring. You do know all GN's look alike. LMAO!!! Bring the "Boca" car!!! All of your cars look beautiful!
