Hi Ken. I think I am finally ready for the 200 4r swap. I've read your post on the th350 swap a few times. Thanks for the great info.
I have a carb you rebuilt and tv armed for me. I have two questions.
Did you find the swap needed an additional trans cooler? And how would I know if need a lockup kit or do they all need it? I just loaded my Summit cart with the line, fittings, carb bracket, and lockup kit. But want to be sure.
    Thanks, Don

I am using just the in-radiator trans cooler. I had a couple feet leftover of the hose.

Certainly an auxiliary trans cooler couldnt hurt, but you might need more cooler hose. If you plan on running the trans hard, it might not be a bad idea.

I do use the lockup for gas mileage purposes. You can activate it a bunch of ways...toggle switch, pressure switch, full on lockup kit by tci.....

Are they "needed"? Its up to you.

Install a trans temp gage. If it gets too hot, add an aux cooler.

The tci lockup kit is likely the best complete solution for driveability and controlling lockup.

I should also mention, if the lower straight hose end is too close to the frame or what have you, I have used a 90deg hose end.

Ken, I have never had my vert down the track. We just cruise and drive it. I will be sure and have a couple of extra fittings. I'll be in touch about putting the 3:73's in the rear end, too.

Larry, I was following your recent post about a trans cooler. I like that Derale plate set up as well. I was thinking a 16 or 19 plate version myself.

Thanks as always guys, for your advice and wisdom.!
