Okay folks so my 69 Skylark is on the road finally! has a freshly rebuilt 71 455 with stock intake/ex manifolds, and a TA 212 cam, backed up by a TH400, with a 2004r to be installed in the near future. I have a Street Demon 750 carb that I just installed, is running well. This is my daily driver, and needs to be super reliable.

And then, the gas tank leaks. Looking to replace it, and since EFI has been in the "want" list, might as well get the tanks inc setup with the in tank pump. That brings me to the EFI. Which one of these systems is the hot ticket? They seem pretty similar. Fitech seems to have a lot of forum discussion which is a plus, but the big names of Holley and MSD are tempting too..

I'd stay away from the MSD and go Holley or FiTech. Pump in tank will eliminate a lot of the potential problems you will have, go ahead and upgrade your alternator and make sure your wiring and especially grounds are in good shape and you will be fine. Good info on this site if you use the search function. Good info over at chevelles.com as well.

I have the FiTech 600 power adder. Don't mess with the fuel commander, I can dig a spot for it in the back yard next to mine. A Tanks Inc efi tank setup was a cost effective choice, intank pump is the way to go. I would run new lines to the tank and be done with it. Make sure you have a good alternator and clean power and grounds and you will be in good shape. I am heading out to work now. I will let the pump prime the system for a bout 6 seconds turn the key and she fires up. I could instantly take off if I wanted but let it warm up for a couple minutes when its cold for the rest of the motor. Working great and enjoying the car more than ever.

Thanks for the input. I went with a Holley Sniper and the Sniper (tanks inc i think)fuel tank with in-tank pump, etc.

I went with efisystemspro.com after some research, I called up and chatted with the head guy there, Chris, for a good 30 minutes about what I wanted and what would be best. Got the Sniper, Tank, filters, hoses, clamps, the whole front to back setup for ~$1600 to my door :)

Sounds like a great deal! The Holley control until looks a lot nicer than the fitech little one. Good luck with the install and keep us posted as to how it goes!

You can get a fuel cell from RobbMc, tjis one works. Powersurge!
I was debating a long time what system.to use and decided to use none of it but my setup is a boosted setup. If NA ip to 650hp i would say its preference.. Fitech or Sniper.Fitech is arround longer so more users and experience. SNIPER has the bigger$ company and support backup i would say and a decent amount of users.

I have some experience with Holley since I used an HP system on my 350. Going forward with a 455 I know I won't need a complicated expensive efi system.

My friend has an atomic efi system on his 351W and I am shocked how well it runs and how simple it was to install. You cant control much or view much but it still gives more adjustability versus a carb, cold starts and throttle response are night and day compared to a Holley 750.

His truck can sit for 6 months, you just prime the pump for 2 seconds and it cranks right up to high idle. Still uses an MSD distributor, standard coil. Nothing fancy needed. Considering I want a restomod with the mod part kept under wraps a simple TBI style efi seems most appealing to me.
