I don’t know however I don’t see how you could run out of cam cores and not be able to tell the customer when you’ll have them in

Ok Guys just curious why there is so much venting on this thread about the "first test of the Super Wildcat Billet Heads" by Kenny Betts Racing?
Ken stepped up with a Great deal of his own money and passion to put another option out there for the Buick racer. Ken's company is maybe 6 months old. Yes we have been working on things for several years. As JW said it's a small market and even our parts get pushed aside for higher volume better return parts. In other words we have to wait often also.
We have just about everything we need to really roll out some parts. On that statement Jenn and I have committed to try to fix the complaint many of you have concerning cranks and cams.
If any of us took the complaints ( of our small market) to heart we would probably not be doing this.
An update will be posted in KBR vendor section this weekend with regards to KBR parts. We have all experienced the delays from many sources that is part of the reason we are doing this, besides just wanting to go faster :)
Let's try to get back on track with the original topic.

You're right. My apologies. My venting was not directed at Ken or what you he is doing and I'm sorry to have vented in a thread about his products. I am excited for what you guys are bringing to the table. I think you will be the savior to guys looking to make big power.

with all due respect this is the subject at hand this is been a long time problem and it’s been getting worse and while we all appreciate and are eagerly awaiting KBR developments we’ve heard this before from other vendors and have waited years for parts to come out so for us to be a little skeptical I think is understandable. We all want to get to a point where it doesn’t take five years to build an engine if KBR or any other business can help that happen that would be great. Just because customers vent there frustrations due to being mislead by statements of owners of businesses or companies only to wait far too long for results or information just isn’t acceptable. Simply put don’t put out statements if expectations can’t be met. Ongoing updates would be a great help and reassure customers waiting to put something together And don’t have any idea of when that will be obtainable. Thank you for your input.Tom

There are so many different tool steels available, which tool steel are they making them with?

If he knew better he would include ported TE Stage 2 heads because if you step up to the 14* sbc stuff, those flow 340 in. CFM right out of the box and with porting can get up to the 400s!

Tom one thing Ken has pushed is that he will not sell/ or take money from people without testing the parts first. Ken has only been pouring a great deal of his money into this. He has not taken money from anyone in advance of a part being ready. He too bought a block a while back that never showed. He took that as a learning experience, a painful one...
Many businesses have employees, we are a few people that teamed up to get Buick performance parts out to people.
No real complaints on the ot comments on this thread, it's just people looking for information on the original topic should find that, not reasons to not build a Buick.
KBR is not trying to put out a few 1 off parts but a fair amount of parts in a short period of time, relatively speaking.

I forget what this thread was about. So here is an update. Anyone can order a set of billet heads. Each set will be custom machined since engine builders all want something a little different. Our identical aluminum cast head is in the finishing stages of the files being completed. We will immediately send them to the foundry. For all you guys who want billet cranks and cam blanks, John Everett and I are in the process of buying the machine to do just that. If you are tired of paying 3800 to 4400 for a crank those days are ending soon. When I said I will invest a million dollars to get the ball rolling this year I meant it. Some will go by the wayside and new members come. I understand that. But JW, JE, MG, MB, and I are going BUICK racing soon!

The question was on a tight budget what would be the most gains as far as horse power we were talking about iron heads versus aluminum and I stated the Edelbrock because of the cheaper rocker arms

I am assuming Moldex is 3800 and a Scat crank is 4400? I know Crower's prices are lower

Well. That was plenty a new to read. I thank all. I'm still about 5 yrs out before I wear out my factory blocks. I'm hoping the iron blocks will be readily available from KBR by then. IF not I will shurly dig up this thread and vent away!
