Got a few odds and ends done on the car. Gonna try having accessories done by the end of the week. Will lesabre 350 radiator hoses work or do I need 455 hoses?
Got around to getting coolant hoses for the motor. Found an upper that fits, probably gonna cut a lower v6 hose. Heater core hoses all done. One problem I noticed. The v6 alternator bracket looks to be too high. Are you guys just grinding these down and cutting the hood support out or doing a different bracket. I did a search. Seems like most are for early brackets. This is the one piece 85 bracket.
I used the stock 86 bracket with no mods. just use a short enough belt so the alternator sits low on the bracket.
Idk, looks like its sticking up above the fenders. I got the motor sitting where it should. I left the trans in place so it would be where it needs to be. Used a lever right on the carb base to get it as straight as I could. Maybe I could loosen the bracket bolts and tilt it down enough to get some clearance.
I know it will look like it sticks above the fenders but remember, the center of the hood is raised. It is close but it worked on mine. The only problem I has was if the alternator was set too high, the fan would hit the hood. Wait a sec, what chassis side engine mounts did you use? 68-72 Skylark? Like these...
Been looking at exhaust systems. I'm a fan of cheap. What kit is not a total pita to install? I planned on GN exhaust which may still be done but just wondering if there's a more economical setup.
No 81 regal g-body just like you -- btw do you and Jeremy ever still make it out to the Braidwood/Wilmington area?
Believe it was this kit... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/pye-sgg10s/overview/year/1981/make/buick/model/regal
IDK Jeremy said you guys had a friend who lived in that area ( IL ) which is like 20 mins or less from me. I almost came out to meet you guys but it ended up not working out due to family stuff. Haven't spoken to Jeremy in long while ( probably doesn't even remember me lol ) since I don't frequent the V6 board at all anymore. Just figured if you guys still make the trip your more then welcome to come by check out my BBB'd regal for ideas/info/whatever + Ill hand you a cold brew lol :beer
