Last week the GS455 made its way to a friends body shop. Hope to have her done in a month. Started working on it last Thursday. Few hours on Friday and just about 8 hours today. Next week hopefully a couple of hours each day. Will be painting it the original color burnished saddle.
Thanks John, then I can get on with the other project (70 GSX, QQ, Stage1). Hope that doesn't take as many years as this one.
I like your color choice. I have seen a couple of them painted the burnished saddle. VERY SHARP Looking forward to a pic
Thanks Chuck, Working a couple hours a day, taking our time to get a nice paint job. I had a 70 Buick GS when I was younger, it was a burnished saddle. I've always loved that color also. I'll try to keep pictures coming as I progress.
Harold be patient, and do it right. Last week was going through receipts and discovered I started this project about Nov. 2003. Took a few years off which slowed the project quite a bit. Now I can't wait, but if I don't finish it this year, definitely next.
I'm pretty patient, that's what worries me!. The Camaro hasn't seen daylight since '84, and I put two Skylarks in front of it! But I hear you, I try to learn as I go and we'll get there! What color interior goes with your paint?
Not yet, still at my buddys body shop. Tomorrow I get to go buy paint. I'll try to post pictures as I can.
Well after a few months I have a paint job! Its been a few years in the waiting. Hope to get it togather by late fall or next summer.
Dam, that looks good! I wonder how good that color would match up with sandlewood interior?... Dean any chance you could send those pics to hwprouty@aol.com? I'd like to run that color by the wife, see what she thinks.
Thanks for the comment Harold, I think I have a pic of my interior that is a tan or light tan. I'll try to post that tonight.
Thanks, I love the color too! The guy that painted it was trying to talk me out of it until I brought a sample to the shop. Then he liked it. Instead of putting in fine metal I put in coarse(some people call it sparkle) metal. His youngest son kept asking if I was going to have it painted pxxp brown, but later said he really liked the color.
Looks good! I'm just worried the sandlewood interior wouldn't look good. Please send those pics to hwprouty@aol.com so I can print 'em and hang 'em on the car to get a visual! The '70 is a dark green and she's leaning toward a respray but I'm looking... Dean not trying to hijack your paintjob!
Good for you. Metallic Burnished Saddle is a Rich Gorgeous color. People are just used to seeing faded out 40 year old lacquer paint is all. Tired of all the idiots poop comments.
