Hi Gang, After 9 years of online window shopping, 4 to 5 almost purchases, the dream is almost complete... (pending) transport & delivery from South Carolina by none other than Bill Squires from Bill's Auto Works (info obtained from forum T.Y.). The new baby... 1970 Buick Skylark Custom (not GS, but will be finished, eventually as a Stage 1 tribute) - has a 454 Chevy heart. Coming home this February. Previous Buick experience. Owned a 96 Regal Limited, Learned to drive in mom's 92 LeSabre Limited, and fell in love with Skylarks when she brought home her new 96 Skylark. Kindest Regards, Javier
Hope its delivered with no probs. And enjoy driving. I heard the 454s react good to a cam swap if yours has a stock cam.
Great car. Did you know that it will run better if you move the distributor to the front of the engine? Little secret that most of us know from years of experience.
According to the title I received... yes its a GS. It was badged as a stage 1 tribute, but the hood bonnet & grill are not GS... (I believe they are Skylark). But admittedly I'm a novice.
44437 I suspect there was an error at DMV and its supposed to be 43437? Not sure if that's something that can or has happened with older vehicles? I'll have to double check on car, once it arrives.... no regrets, right
That's a 70 skylark custom hood. And the vin is also for a skylark custom but it's a Nice looking ride what ever the pedigree. Briz is right. It will run much better with the dizzy in the front.
I would have them send a pic of the vin first, if it was mis represented then there is no issue getting your money back if you've already paid What's on the title doesn't mean squat
Thank you gents... you fellas are a wealth of good information. Glad to rejoin the Buick family. I'm happy regardless if it's a Skylark or real GS... I may eventually finish the Stage 1 tribute on it.
