Your going to need a qualifier on this question. You can take an anemic mid 70's 350 and put it on a roller skate, and it will be a rocket.. JW
There’s plenty of math formulas to determine horsepower from weight and ET and mph. That could determine who is actually making the most.
I know the fastest iron 455 NA in any 4 wheeled platform. 1.01 60ft. 7.2 at 192 -1850lbs no electronics. Now back to the original topic. Back in 80s and early 90s there were a few real fast 430 at the Nationals. I can't remember now what cars. Maybe from too much tire shake
I was thinking along the lines of the stage 1 iron head record rules but I should have qualified it. I was thinking a full frame door car. I ran across a good 430 and figured it may be something fun to chase without spending a million dollars. I know there is a member with the name fastest430 but I've never seen times posted.
The 430 is in a the white lightning car now (full weight street car 3700 lbs) ,currently runs 11.80's (th400 trans, 3.90 rear) This same 430 went 11.20 in a lighter car (3.90 rear TH400 trans, 2800 lbs) I don't remember the MPH 430 CI iron headed small valve all Buick part numbers except intake and cam 800 cfm Q-jet , always shift at 6000 rpm when racing I don't know if it's a record but it's a fast 430
My 430 in the stude went a best of 11.72. stock btm end, hemi killer, ported iron heads, sp-1, 850 demon, 3.73 gear, 4000 stall, at 3500 lbs. Bolted on my ported stg 2 SE's, no other changes, went 11.31.
Way way back when I had my 68 Riv, I spun a rod bearing racing a 240z. Took that engine out, put a straight from the junkyard 430 in with a Spreadbore Holley 650 with no air cleaner, points ignition, the plugs that came in it from the junk yard and stock size BFG radials. 100% stock body & interior. 15.0's off the foot brake.
