I got mine from CARS, just gave them the application and they pulled up te correct size for each one.
I just did the 71 GSX and a 46 Super, so they have the info you need

In addition, Mark Reeves at Then and Now has a hose clamp set for your car, everything in one package

I have conflicting info on which size tower clamps are correct. One source I got NOS clamps from says the were 1 15/16" the other repro source says 2 1/16" They both work. I have tried both sizes. All four spots use the same clamp. I find the NOS clamps are stronger. I have had the reproduction clamps screw heads break right off when I turned them????

The ones from CARS and TPP are junk. I am sure Mark has much better quality that will actually fit.

Hey Dennis,, I used the parts from AMK that Dave researched. Fit great. From his earlier post.

small 5/8 heater hose takes 15/16 pinch clamp gold color GM part #272850 AMK#B-13101,
    large 3/4 hose takes 1 1/16" pinch clamp color red GM#2722852 AMK#B-13102,
all radiator hose clamps are tower 1 15/16" GM part #9414933 AMK#B-13095,

Later models used Tower instead of pinch on heater hose, not sure of change over date: They are :
5/8 hose tower 1 1/16" AMK #B-13092, 3/4 hose tower 1 3/16" AMK# B-13093. Hope this helps. This is what I used and I am assuming sizes are the same as my 71.

Only draw back to AMK is there is a $35 min order I think it is? But if your needing exhaust manifold bolts, Radiator support bolts your way over that anyways.

Mark, hope you didn't replace my heater hose pinch clamps , I had to buy the special tool at Sears to get them on !

Hose clamps needed are different depending where your car was built and if it has Ac or not. There is some variation. One type of band clamp was used on the water pump bypass that are very difficult to find. Cars does not have them. Be careful if you need the pinch Corbin clamps. Often times you will get the wrong ones from everyone. The pinch Corbin clamps were used on heater hoses on Flint built cars. Use only red for the 3/4 heater and gold for 5/8. They will leak if you use any others. If you have an aftermarket heater core they may leak anyway so use some sealer on the outlets. All plants other than Flint used small towers on the heater hoses in 71.

I can supply you with the correct Corbin Clamps for the heater hoses if you have a Flint car. I am out of the correct bypass hose clamps, I lost my source for those.

How well do the small tower clamps work on the heater hoses? Are they also prone to leaking?

Do you know of a source for the two, small, red clamps that go on the radiator reservoir?

    Thanks

I use CARS tower tops. Yes they are a little flimsy so a little care is needed. I apply light oil to the slides and am careful to not over tighten and use a back-up wrench on the tower. Never had a problem even after removing and reinstalling 2 or 3 times.

So, it sounds like the ugly, old AutoZone worm clamp is the best way to go?

    Thanks

There was only ONE clamp on the reservoir hoses (lower). I have a few of the bypass original style clamps I can sell. I've had no problems with CARS tower clamps, but...yeah...they are flimsy and you should back up the nut when tightening. You may have to re-tighten them after 1K miles or so. What clamps you use depends on how seriously your car will be judged. BCA...GSCA...AACA...all will dock you for worm clamps if the judges are on the ball. Bear in mind many of the judges hold to those standards even at small local or regional shows. My 1970 Fremont GS 455 has the red and gold heater hose clamps, EXCEPT for the short hose from the heater valve to the manifold. That has small towers and I believe that's correct. Dave...if you need those bypass hose clamps for Bob's car let me know....

I was wondering if there was a thread devoted to these clamps.

You'll have to excuse my recent posts in threads that are considered old. I've been out of the game for a long time.

That said, what would all the correct style clamps be for an early build Flint car and who's the best bet to carry what I need?

    CopperheadGS1,

Reading through and old post and saw that you may have the correct clamps for the Flint built 70 GS? Also, I tried calling Dave Kleiner to try and get correct (repro) radiator hoses. Would you know where to get those, with the correct stampings? Thanks

My understanding is that Marti of Ford fame bought or took over the Wittek Company. If you look hard for Ford Mustang repro towers, you can find some that say Wittek Chicago Made in USA, I don't think they have the old Patent # on them. But they are made of better galvanized steel to the old specs. The real ones or "NOS" were much more rugged than the repros. Unfortunately, there are a ton of the thin band repros around, like many repro parts, the sellers don't want to eat the crap they bought or ordered. I don't know what AMK sells.

I bought some of those exact ones for my 65. I'm looking for the corbin style clamps in red and gold for my 70 heater lines. The corbin clamps for the 65 heater lines are black and I got those as well, bought them from Fusick.
And, NOS tower clamps on ebay have been as much as $180.00, for a single clamp.
Who, if anyone on here reproduces the radiator hoses with the correct stampings?
Flint built 70 455. I tried calling Dave Kleiner but it was not the right number. And I called Mark Reeves but the shop had closed.

I can stamp those. But only a 455. Is that what you have? I can’t do many more. I am almost out of ink and the company went out of business. I can get the radiator hoses for you. I have an upper ready to go. For radiator clamps all 4 were towers 2 1/16”. You can buy those anywhere, witteck company is long gone so I think what’s sold are China specials. Hold the tower with pliers so it does not twist when you tighten it. Use a nut driver to tighten them. The heads break off easy. Not strong like the originals. I have the correct pinch clamps for heater hoses and also the special clamps for the bypass hose. Is the car an AC car? If so that requires two small towers as well. I don’t have those.
