Hi all, I have a 69 buick sportwagon that smells of exhaust especially after a burst of the throttle. Rear seals all seem pretty good. took a bright light all around and can't see it from the inside. door is tight. smell gets worse with drivers window open or any window for that matter. I don't have a deflector but am thinking of going that route but only as a last resort. I am going to phone einstyne.com tomorrow as they make all tailgate and window chanell rubber for A body wagons. Any suggestions as to how i can lessen the exhaust smell. Have club 3 inch with x pipe and hemi killer cam. never expected to pass air care but smell was there before engine was rebuilt. thanks Pete
I think this is an inherent problem with the '68-69 Sportwagon. The rear deflector will help a lot. Another trick is to have a custom exhaust shop exit the tail pipes out the sides of the car and behind the rear wheels.
I found this site a long time ago .I haven't used the product or even know if it will fit. http://www.einstyn.com/einstyn-wagon-parts.htm Let us know if this solves the problem should you or any body else uses them.
