i need some suggestions for evacuation system on my Stage 2 iron head engine . Closed exhaust 2.5 " compression is 13.5 to 1 . I believe the exhaust is part of the issue ,
On my dad's car it's 13.8 to 1 and all its ever had was the stock PCV valve and it's never pushed any oil engine been together for almost 10 years. For a stockish appearance run two of the stock air cleaner tube cover nipples and mount a black catch can maybe a Corvette headlight can or something. For pure function just put a tank on it I ran header evac for years with full exhaust also I never seen any down sides, lot of people say you can only use header evac with open headers but from my experience it worked great and caused no issues
Mann Hummel Provent 200 with M/E Wagner Dual Flow PCV is the ticket. The common aluminum canisters with production PCV's are antiquated when compared. https://www.mann-hummel.com/fileadmin/user_upload/service/catalogues/pdf/ProVent_en_2013.pdf http://mewagner.com/?p=444 Larry
Nick....85474....there are cheaper alternatives. I used an inline air compressor separator on my Stage 2. Have it standing up so the oil that gets separated drains back into intake and crankcase. Recycling! My Jag motor gets next to nothing in it....well at least it did before I cooked it. It does give you an idea on how well the rings are sealing based on how much it catches and you drain out.
Jim according to the spec sheet the Provent 200 is 8.7" top to the very bottom of the integrated return fitting, but I have one at the shop and will measure it when I get to work just to verify. As for the M/E Wagner Dual Flow PCV , .... it is adjustable. The idea is to run the Provent 200 with the M/E Wagner PCV in conjunction for a super efficient system. I still need to have a return fitting welded to my Stef's pan's sump for the Provent's return though. I have already them both and will be incorporating them in the Street/Strip 464 build I am pursuing at this time. Larry
I like the occasional smoke screen billowing from my rear every now and then, especially on the freeway.
