Curious as to what your thoughts are with this. I have a few parts I'm working on and there are some ripples that might be challenging to get even. Has anyone ever used epoxy to smooth out a rough surface and polish?

    Haven't done it...just curious.

    Thank you

You don't want a mirror smooth finish; a tad ruff will prevent fuel puddling in corners etc. JB weld seems to stick to CLEAN aluminum pretty well tho... ws

There are several industrial level epoxies that are very good;even acceptable for military grade repairs. Belzona molecular metal comes to mind. These types can be machined like metal!

Have a pal that's a Belzona applicator...met him 25 years ago at the generating station. Belzona is the BOMB, if you can get it. Its a very "Industrial" repair formula and generally not available to the public... JBW is about 2 steps below BZ... ws

I have seen JBW break loose inside head ports.
After so many heat cycles it looses it's bond.

I found that mt13 works better than jb weld and it mixes white I use it for the bleeders on the Quadrajets, you have to buy it on line check it out.
