Engine wiring problem

    I have problems getting my 1970 Buick GS to fire up. The positive wire on the coil has no power from inside the car. I checked the fuse box inside the car no blown fuses. Do anyone know if this wire run inside directly to fuse block? Any would be appreciated with this problem.

    FYI - I'm not knowledgably with wiring at all

    Yes. The wiring harness is in pretty bad shape. Looks like melted wires and lots of stuff was messed with from the previous owner.

    If it's that bad a replacement may be prudent. The engine harness is about $180 from several different vendors.

    Just to start it, 12 volts straight from the battery to the (+) Coil. Don't leave it connected too long.
