As many of you know, my family is mostly Mopar people. Just thought I'd share my older brother's newest project for those of us that are into other brands, just so long as the stuff is cool....He bought a beater '64 Savoy former drag car for $1000, which was done in the 70s-80s, and is a pretty period correct piece for back then. They're having a full tube chassis built right now, and he scored the engine last week. It's a billet headed, PSI screw supercharged Hemi. The engine ran mid 5's in the funny car it's out of, but they have outlawed screw superchargers in that class. It's currently being refreshed and "de-tuned" down to 2500-3000 hp. We're hoping for 6's out of the Savoy, and hopefully have on the track by end of next year. I probably should've stayed in Alaska and helped with the family business........

Older brother (Lance) has always been ahead of us in the quarter mile. When we were running 13s, he was in the 11s. When we got into the 12s, he was in the 10s. Now that my little brother (Layne), my Dad, and I are all in the 10s, he pulls this out.....I think he just made it not a competition anymore......

Wow...that's quite the motor, I'm surprised you didn't twist the car apart and blow out all the glass.
So am I seeing that right, dual ignition, two plugs per cylinder?

I'm not sure on the valve sizes, but I've got him sending me more info, specs, and pics, which I'll share. It's 2300 miles north of here, I'm hoping to get to put my grubbies on it this spring when I go up there for a visit :)

Ok.....Chassis is being built and is a 6.0 certified, double frame rail, full chromoly tube chassis with a full carbon fiber interior, but driver's floor is chromoly also. Chromoly full floater rear diff out of a funny car. Will be stock all steel body with a VIN, all stock chrome trim/grill/etc., and working lights. Will be licensed and insured as a street car. Engine is a Brad Anderson 521" solid aluminum block Hemi with a Bryant crank. Blower is a PSI screw 14-71 that will be running approximately 45 psi, was running in the 50s in the funny car. Trans is a Lenco 3 speed. He didn't get pics of anything else while he was there....said he was just going to hang out and B.S. but the deal was too good to pass up and happened so fast that when he was on his way home it hit him that "Holy sh!t, I just started a blown alcohol Hemi build...."

He got his heads back from being freshened up. They are BAE 8x heads (Brad Anderson). Final specs are: 2.450 intake and 1.925 exhaust, titanium valves, springs, keepers, etc.. Chassis is being built, wheels are almost finished and will be sent off to the anodizer later this month. His chrome and other trim parts are done and waiting to be sent back.
