the only numbers i can find on my engine are a remanufactured tag
that reads 407540 the tag is located on the front passenger side of the block infront of what i beleive is the temp sending unit or oil pressure sending unit
    can anyone identify this engine
the intake has been replaced with a t/a performance stage 1 intake no other markings that are visible
    any help appreciated
    thanks

    Type?

    Cid?

If Buick look behind the intake manifold next to the firewall. The cid is usually cast into the step just behind the intake.

is there any possibility of it being a 73-81 block or is it definately a 72 block? if so how can i tell without pulling off the valve cover ?
it has a t/a performance intake and aftermarket headers.
water pump design or numbers any indication?
