Where are you guys installing electric fuel pumps on A-bodies, I have a 69 Skylark. After sitting a few days it take a while to start up due to fuel returning to tank

Get.a fuel filter with a check valve, no need for an electric pump unless your over 450hp

Electric fuel pumps do better when they are gravity fed. That is why you see them mounted low in back of the tank on a lot of cars. I still use a mechanical pump and it was expensive but gets the job done. If and when I go to electric, I will buy a new tank meant for an in tank pump and EFI. As Ethan mentioned, the Stage1 pump is good to 450 HP, and if you want, you can use a pusher pump like a Holley Red, and mount that in front of the tank on the trunk wall. Just tee it into the rubber line coming out of the tank. Use a relay triggered by the kick down switch so that it only runs when needed.

I have the edelbrock quiet flow with revolution wiring harness; I just had the car on a lift at work and can’t find a decent safe location. I didn’t know about the fuel filter; I’d rather go that route.
    Thanks

    Ethan,
Where would be a good location for the check valve; before the fuel pump (lower pressure) or just before the carbeurator ( pressure side)
    Thanks

I used to use an electric fuel pump in a gbody if it helps any. I put my pump in engine bay for many years. As I got older I learned it was dangerous to put fuel next to a spark so I was in planning to run it towards the rear of the car. I had to run it because I was running a sbc that was newer and had no mech fuel pump

It won't do anything for Fuel evaporation but that takes several days to occur from my experience, you can poke a little piece of fuel compatible foam in the bowl vent to slow that process as well

I failed to mention that I’m running an edelbrock carb; I’m looking at the ones go between the fuel line.
