I know that. I just thought it was strange that Martin says he'll do what he can, in his spare time, to produce some things for which he's already set up. Martin was gracious to let everyone know that he'll do what he can to provide these limited parts. Now folks are ignoring that and asking him to take on other projects. He DID NOT ask for opinions on other items he should produce. If that would have been profitable, I'm sure that he would have done it some time ago. Therefore I said if someone wants something more than what Martin is already offering, he should take it upon himself to take on that new project. I'm only reiterating what Martin said in the first place.

I'd be interested in the single 4 squarebore manifold also as this is the MOST common. In my opinion this would be the best seller of ALL!!!! Next inline I feel the spreadbore would be 2nd. as the availability is scarce for originals as they were a one year ONLY availability.
Just my thoughts on the subject.

If he did them like TA does their intakes so both carbs would work on one intake would be good for both for whoever wants one.:Do No: But a 4150 square bore would be good enough for me, I'm not much of a Q-Jet guy.

It seems the 1 X 4 manifold would be the most popular request going on the replies here. Most likely a better seller than the proposed 2 X 4 and 3 X 2 and there are others on the market already --- are they any good, I don't know.

Marty, I'm curious how the EELCO 2x4 sold compared to the 2x3?

Your different manifolds will target different users....
Hot Rodders will prefer the 2x3.
The 2x4 will appeal to rodders, old-school street guys, and those that like the 'somewhat stock' look,
and the hard-core performance guys will want a 1x4..... which explains the response you got here at V8!

Your best bet is to target your efforts towards the highest potential sales.
There's obviously a market for the 2x4 and 2x3. The 1x4 market is still to be determined.
Thanks for your efforts, hope it goes well for you.

I'd take a 2x4 if the cost was reasonable. It was regrettable we had not picked one up before they went out of production. A 1x4 would be nice too depending on flow characteristics and plane design.

wonder why TA will not make a 1x4 ?. take the EELCO 2x4 even the 3x2 and redesign the top to fit the 1x4 every thing else could stay the same.

yes Marty did a great job. his 2x4 beat the famous b4 Edelbrock 2x4 on the dyno.

Ed - I don't believe you and I have spoken before. I also know that sarcasm doesn't come across well via text on a forum. We all know that it is highly unlikely that anyone will ever produce a set of cast aluminum heads for Nailhead. It just isn't cost effective. You would sell maybe a handful at most and they would probably cost upwards of around $3k a set because of the low turn around. For the hardcore racing folks it would be worth it in weight savings alone, plus porting is easier and safer due to the fact the aluminum can be welded on easier and more reliably than cast iron.

Outside of that, I am aware that Marty is doing this on the side and will only supply a select number of parts at limited volumes. I commend him for deciding to continue to supply some much needed nailhead parts. We are good, just wanted to make sure that we are all on the same page.

    Hi guys.

For some reason I did not get notified of all the replies. I will try to answer all the questions.

The 2x4 outsold the 3x2 by 5:1. About 250 have been made to date. The 1x4 tooling is already done as a square bore and it performs quite well. It just needs to have some changes to be a production mold.

Cylinder heads are not even on the radar. I just don't have the time or the 75k to invest in the tooling.

Thank you again for the warm welcome back. 2x4 manifolds are on my bench now and shipping as they are finished.

Count me in for a 1x4 square bore if you decide to do a production run. Is it the same height from the head flange to the carb flange as the OE manifold? can you give some specifics on how it differs form the OE manifold? Thanks for your efforts :beer

Would prefer a Spreadbore 1x4 If you could make one that adapts both , yes square bore was more common, but Spread Bore beat out the dual quad in the quarter Not by much , dual planed and flowed if we're going all out
