Resist the urge to firewall it, at least till you learn what it can do. Put 500 miles on it before you start pushing it.

Otherwise, you will end up in the trees. The torque will do things no other engine can do.

    Trust me on this one

Thanks for the advise Steve. Yeah I've never driven 600 plus hp motor and the torque is going to be crazy.
I'm really excited! My current motor in my black car is only 450hp 520tq and it runs great.

Only 450 hp and 520 ft/lbs lol. Only on a Buick site talking BBBs have I heard that, may never see it anywhere else. And the 500-1000 mile mark is good to let everything break in alittle before beating it up. Half throttle to 4,000 RPM will be plenty of fun and still a little much. Just hearing it idle will make my day.

I know Jesse your right. I owned a 70 cutlass 455 rebuilt and it ran nothing like my BBB. Chevy's before and I had to use too big a cam to get power.
Our Buicks just needs some good flowing heads and they GO!

I really want to build a SBB when the aluminums heads come out. I think it will be a great street motor and ridiculously light.

I'm with ya on the Buick 350. I sold off my 350 core the other day and was like should I have really done that. Luckily there are more 350 engines out there than 455 engines. It will be interesting to see well built 455 engines, built 350 engines, turbo and non turbo, and the Buick 3.8 Turbo 6 guys competing at Bowling Green and other GS Nationals.

Yep, im with you guys on that too. With the addition of the single plane and heads, my next one will be an SBB.
