    Edelbrock idle adjustment

Start with the screws backed out 1 1/2 turns off of LIGHTLY bottomed... (750 AFBs are paper thin by the idle adjustment ports, and can break out). Then slowly turn screws till you reach the highest rpm response, or use a vacuum gauge and go for the highest reading. Hope this helps, Frank Power :beer

One at a time, slowly; in is leaner, out is richer...idle circuit only. Happy motoring, Frank Power

You need a 12 volt supply to it when the ignition key is on.. do not use the ignition coil supply as it is reduced to about 8 volts through resistance. Frank

    George,
What you have is a Performer Series Carbureter and it is listed in the Edelbrock 2001 performance catalog I have. It is "For 402 c.i.d and larger Performer applications. Calibrated 2% leaner than # 1407.
Provides economy when used on 454 c.i.d Chevrolet and 460 c.i.d Ford Performer applications. Includes both timed and full vacuum ports for ignition advance. Comes with the following jets, rods and springs: Metering Jets: Primary.110, Secondary .107; Metering Rods: .075 x .047. Step up Spring: Orange (5"Hg)"
    "750cfm,square- flange, electric choke.
I quoated as close as my typing would let me.
Mine is a 1407 with manual choke.
I would get in touch with Edelbrock and see if they would provide you with an owners manual. They have a technical hot line at 1-800-416-8628 or E-mail at edelbrock@edelbrock.com.
They also have an air cleaner designed for this carb, Mine is P/N 1207, I paid $32.00 for it at Checker Auto parts. Hope this info is helpful to you. Do you have an automatic or is yours a 4 speed? If you have an auto you may need more help to make it shift right, but that is for another time. Take care George.

Bill quick question, what do you mean exactly "make it shift right"i also wanted to ask you,on which inlet did u hook up your pcv hose and the pipe that is connected in the back on the stock carb for the tranny shift?where did you connect all this on the edelbrock carb?

    Thanks

    George,
The distributer vacuum advance hose goes from the distributer to the right side port of carb, if you are standing in fromt of the engine it is on the left , the other side should be plgged with a little rubber cover. The PCV hose now goes in front of carb and the trans vacuum line goes in the back. I have some pictures of this, but I have them on a Kodak floppy and can't seen to figure out how to send them to you. I will try later. Take care George.
