These were marketed a number of years ago as Nailhead "Tri-Y" headers. I first saw them when they were advertised in the Riviera Owner's Associations magazine. I don't recall the guys name who was making them, but there were pictures of them installed on a 63-65 Riviera in the magazine.

Are the side exits designed to exit in the fender well? That would be one really loud Riviera when opened up.

That's not tri-Y, which has different paired cylinders left vs. right.
    Example:
    driver 1-3, 5-7
    passenger 2-6, 4-8

I said that's what the builder called them, I didn't necessarily agree with him. Tri-Y headers don't necessarily go with the configuration you laid out. They're designed to match up cylinders on opposite ends of the firing order as much as possible. This allows the gasses to be discharged into a relatively opend pipe and so there won't be discharge from two consecutive firing pistons going into the smae pipe at the same time. Tri-Y designs will be different for each engine depending on firing order of the engine. So, depending on the firing order of nailhead, these could be Tri-Y headers.

Which firing order gives paired primaries as shown?

back in the 60's Doug Thorley made tri Y's for just about everything that rolled....they were a hot set up... good , efficent exhaust scavinging and did not take up as much room as the 4 tube type....

One sold on E Bay last week. I wanted it, but didn't know what year it was. It had the shaft going through it. It just looked like old school. Like back in the 50s. That's the way big trucks and farm tractor are made.
