I know Carlisle is the big one, but I'm sure there are other good local ones. Any suggestions, I'm in Virginia.

Same goes for junkyards as well. Any suggestions? B-mail if you want to keep it quiet.

    Thanks

    Brad,

In our area, I can think of the Brandywine yards - one in Lorton and another two across the river in southern MD. Call and ask which one has the older cars.

Haven't been to either in about five years, but they allowed walk-around then. Check the VA and MD Yellow Pages for current yards.

Most VA swap meets are around Richmond or Winchester - I'd rather go to Carlisle or Hershey.

The Autofair at Charlotte motor speedway in the spring. That shouldn't be too far of a trip.

The Carlisle swap meet isn't as good as it used to be. It's like the junkyards now-a-days, all the good stuff is taken. The one swap meet I would like to go is Hershey's. I believe they would have more interesting stuff there.

I agree that the Charlotte event is very worthwhile, but it's a long drive from the DC area. I've flown down there and rented a car for the day and flown back at night. That can be done at fairly low cost and hassle. Would have to ship back any large items....
