I also have a early production 70GS 350. I have the deluxe wheel also. It is annoying when the head rest hits the horn button.

Yes, the Deluxe wheel was optional on '70 GS350 cars and standard on GS455 cars. That information is according to my assembly manual and invoice sheet (sloan). My first '70 GS455 had the deluxe wheel, I know all about the horn thing :gt:

I would say it is possible to have a Black overflow tank lid for a car with a mid-to-late December 69 Build date. The cars I kept track of were all "Flint" cars, if your car was from a different plant it could be different.
Put another way, we would not take points off for any combination of flat/pointy lenses, steel/plastic radiator cover, and clear/black lid overflow jug during the late Nov to end of Dec 69 time period. When judging we like to err on the side of the owner when possible.

As far as 1 vs 2 piece front rotors the break seems to be sometime around March-April of 1970. This would mean that the majority of 70 Disc brake cars would have had 2-piece rotors. This also seems to be the time agreed upon by the Chevelle guys. My old 70 GSX had 2-piece front rotors with a Feb 25, 1970 date cast into both of them. The dates matched perfect with the rest of the car.

    Hope this helps.
