How dense am I ? :Do No: I can't figure out how to remove cable / lock from firewall. That's all that is stopping the removal of the body from the frame. wopuld like to get this done so I can free up carport space to start rebuilding my home :(
    Thanx,
    Jason :beer

    Thanx Frank,
Will try that when I make it down to the house, hopefully later in the week. :TU:

I was able to manipulate the job with a flatblade screw driver and kept pushing in in the springy clip type things while spinning and pulling from the firewall side. I am sure the hose clap idea will work - I wish I had known...

This is how I did it. Very simple and effective.

What is easier??? Just remove the U-clip from the inside surface of the frame rail and feed the cable thru the frame holes as you lift the body up. This way the cable is out of the way and won't hinder you cleaning and painting the frame.

Guys, I just removed my turbo 350 primary cable......the one your talking about from firewall, through frame etc. Any tips on installing the new one? I have it in position......having a hell of a time trying to get into the hole in the fire wall. It’s very stiff, squeezing my hand/arm into this area is near impossible. Do you have to loosen up inner fender well?

Thanks - I know this thread is super old, but still same issues.
