Larry & anyone else that has or will have a Duramax, the FASS fuel system is the one modification that is directly connected to the life of the injectors. I do all my own work on everything & both of mine are LB7s so I cannot comment on the newer ones, but on the LB7s the FASS 95gph system has doubled the life of my injectors. Generally LB7 owners would see injectors start failing after about 70,000 miles consistently. The two sets I have had in each truck (total of 4 sets) went over 130k miles. The reason the FASS works for these applications is because it is a push pump back by the fuel tank. The factory pump is a pull pump located on the engine. These are notorious for letting tiny amounts of air get to the injectors & at the super high pressure rates of today injectors, the air acts as a sandblaster to the tips of the injectors. Also the FASS system uses 2 fliters with a much lower micron rating (one is also a water separator) The Bosch style injectors like about a 4 micron filter, but the factory filter is only a 10 micron filter.

The only drawback to the FASS is the initial investment, but there is also a very slight increase in HP & fuel mileage after adding it.

I have them on both my trucks & they have been working great for 3-4 hundred thousand miles on each.

    God Bless
    Bill

Well today I went ahead and ordered the first of several mods to come for my 2007 Classic Duramax. I decided first to focus on more "air in" for better mpg and power so I bought a Banks Power cold air package {think Olds W-31} with a large Ram-air scoop, big filter box, inlet pipe, prefilter cover, etc. This looks like a easy afternoon project, and then I'll due some testing to see the results, if any. It should arrive next week on UPS. Larry.
