I have a 1966 Buick Skylark drums all around and I want to add a duel chamber master cylinder. I've been told I need to find one off a new model Syklark. Does anyone know where I can get one for my '66. I am keeping drums all around.

    Thanks.

    alec296 i need another buick

Try a 68 skylark on rockauto. Non power brake master. You will need a proportional valve and lines.
Or look at getdiscbrakes.com and get disc brakes.

You DON'T need a proportioning valve with 4 wheel drums.

Ok, so just the master cylinder for a newer model then? As well lines of course.

James, as you are keeping the drum brakes you will not need a proportioning valve, that is needed for a disc brake set up.
You will need a 67 and up master cylinder for a drum brake car. Do not get a disc brake master cylinder.
You will notice you have one line that goes from your existing master cylinder to a tee down on the frame. One line goes to the rear and one line will service the front brakes.
You will need to adapt these lines to the new dual port master cylinder. Look closely because one side of the master cylinder services the rear and the other the front (as I remember it).
Make damn sure you properly bench bleed that new master cylinder or you'll get bubbles and mushy pedal that will drive you nuts.
I did mine first for drum brakes and then redid it when I got a disc brake set up, that's how I got introduced to all the fun.
Carefully bleed the system and you'll be good to go.

A couple things. Dis-connect the rear line from the block on the frame. Use a connector (NOT a compression fitting) Screw the rear line into the connector. Run a line from the rear portion of the master to the rear line. Put a couple circles in this line like you will see on the line that goes from the master to the block now. The new master may have diff. sizes than is used now. Go to a NAPA or other auto parts store & get the correct size line you need with the correct size fittings. Use a plug the correct size to plug the hole where the rear line was removed from. Rear done.
The front. Run a line from the front of the master to the block where the original line was & put a curl in that also.
Bleed the master as stated & then the system & your done. In reality if you have an idea of what your doing should only take a couple hours other than running around for the correct fittings, lines, etc..

The easiest solution is to buy an upgrade kit from one of the major suppliers... Inline Tube, The Right Stuff, Summit, etc.
    It's even avail on Amazon:
    https://www.amazon.com/Manual-Brake-Master-Cylinder-Conversion/dp/B06XPR5BV9

You can piece something together, it's just more work finding all the couplers, adapters, lines, etc.
When I did the conversion on my first 66 (1980 or so) I recall there being a difference in the push rod for the master cylinder in the dual cylinder. A conversion kit should have the correct parts.

Sounds like a really good option. I'm in Canada and the kit is not available up here. I'll call them to see if they can ship to Canada.
