I finally found a 9 3/8" posi for my '71 duce and I'm wondering where I could take it to have it rebuilt. I do not know the condition of the clutches or anything I found it on www.car-part.com, seemed like there were a few on there. Thanks

Well I got it all cleaned up and put it in the car last week and all I have to say is the tires are still crying :ball: What a difference! :3gears:

Well I tried to put down some rubber with it but it didn't do very good, in the process of putting the axle back together I also installed all new rear brake components as mine were all oringinal, well i think the rear brakes are holding to well and the front wheels wouldn't even hold the car at a stop so now I think i'll be rebuilding the original front brakes and maybe getting that brake thing (not sure what it's called) that lets you cut out the rear brakes and only use the fronts. When I hit it from a stop though it launches like I've never seen with it before though, it's great.

Well I didn't end up rebuilding it, I cleaned it up really good and checked the bearings which eventually will need to be replaced, I'm going to run it for 100 miles then change the gear oil again in it. When I first installed and backed out of my driveway it didn't turn, probably becuase it sat in the junk car for 10 years and didn't move, I drove calmly around my neighborhood and it started working like it should. I still have no idea if i can even get it rebuild with new clutches or whatever and I have to find somewhere that can get new bearings for it.

    posi lube...

Dont forget to put posi lube additive into the rear end. Otherwise it will start to chatter and will fail sooner than you can think. Congrats on the posi too!!

Where do I get the posi lube? The gear oil I used said it could be used with limited slip axles is that the same? Oh, and I finally have proof that I got it installed....I love the sight of white smoke and the smell of rubber in the morning :bglasses:
