There's a guy at www.aaca.org in the buick section who is trying to sell an "L79 pilot car" according to the build sheet. I left a response for him to drop in over here and possibly tell you about it, but I don't know if he will. You might want to check it out. It is a beautiful car. Dan

    Years ago I had a 66 GS Coupe (Skylark-based GS)with a 401 Nailhead. As I had a 66 I kept my eyes/ears open to other 66's.
Anyway its probably been 12-15 years ago I was at Carlisle and I heard that 2 guys spent over $20,000 for a 66 GS Coupe, as a matter of fact they came to the show specifically to purchase it. By the time I heard about it the car was already in a trailer and gone. Supposedly it was a 66 GS that originally came with the 2-4bbl setup. I was under the impression that they were offered in 4-bbl only. I never saw the car but always wondered about it.
Maybe this "L76" is one of those cars, I don't know but would be interested in finding out.
Someone posted something about a "Special" 66 GS in another thread but I don't remember where it is.

If someone has a 66 dealers brochure it may list the engine option "L76".
