Drain plugs

    Just getting ready to start my 425 for first time. Why is the coolant drain plug on the drivers side 1/4 inch and the passenger side 1/8 inch pipe?

    I did some research on an old 401. It has 1/8 inch pipe both sides. So my engine drain plug got stripped out one time so they drilled it and retapped to the next bigger size. That makes sense.

    Coriolis effect. Water drains faster on the west side than it does on the east side of the block, given that you are in the northern hemisphere. If you are in the southern hemisphere it is reversed, so you must flip the car over...
