Tom the short black FED is the 69 Logghe car 155". The orange FED is the Woody Gilmore and Tom Hanna 185"junior fuel car. Ours is 200".

425 2X4 Nailhd, The black car is the one we will have in the Grove at Bakersfield.

I enjoy working on Full size Buicks , but all of these can fit in the garage at once.

The new Dunn mag drive came in yesterday for the dragster. It is just a little bigger than stock:laugh: .
I will post a few shots "installed" as soon as I can.
We are planning to fire the set up on Saturday on alcohol only to see how it sounds.

WOW that is a monster how many amps?

When I picked up my Vertex I stopped by my brothers to show him and when I walked up his buddy was bent over the fender of his car with his crack hanging out so I stuck the high tension tower down in there and gave it a little spin I don't think he ever moved so fast. Boy he was pissed

Tom if the Vertex magnets and system are working to capacity you get about 1.2amps.. It does not sound like much but ask your brothers friend how it felt:eek2: . Our new Mag is bumped up to around 10 amps. This mag would have helped with the injected engine due to the fuel volume we ran(about 3.5-4 gal.a pass). I hope to fire the engine this weekend, but the weather is not to good at the 7000' elevation that we live at. The mountains are turning white:rant:
Saturday I will be out with the folks at Reynolds Buick for the day. Hoping for some good weather.
I should be able to get some more shots up Sunday.

Tom we will be running the car at Speed World in Phoenix in 2 and 3 weeks. As it looks we will be running the Injected block with the new Mag and heads. The only stock parts left in the heads are the rocker springs. I will take some :kodak: when I have all the parts back. We will have the car at the John Force Holiday car show Dec.5 in LA. Car was approved for the show. It will be there in its blown form:TU: .
I will put up some pictures soon.
Waiting for the new AN 16 fuel line to come in for the tank to pump:eek2: . All our fitted fuel lines need to be pressure rated to 750 and tagged.
Will post more when I have it.

Paul I can't wait to run it.
I should have the tagged fuel lines back this week. They look like hydraulic hoses for a tractor:laugh: . The 1 inch ID. fuel feed looks outrageous.
I will be on the road for a few days transporting some cars for a few people. I will also be picking up the alcohol valve and nozzle to do the warm ups. When you start a car on alcohol (to warm up the block) it sounds great, but when you switch over to Nitro it is incredible.
I found a video that a friend Bill Pitts did that shows why we have a great time with this type of car and racing. We have 2 of these old cars here we are redoing for customers.
    Check it out.

The guy tuning the car toward the end of the video is Rick McDonald. He will also be tuning our car this winter and then as needed next year.

We went to the John Force car show Sunday and I think we were the only Buick power there:Do No: It was still a lot of fun. I will post some pic's later of the show.

Just a few more pictures of some progress.
Fuel system is now in and all plumbing is done.
The fuel feed is a 1" line and the pressure line to the injector is a 1/2"line @ 80psi.open feed:eek2:
Relocated the fuel tank further forward.
Moved original fire bottle all the way to the nose and added a second just behind it.
Removed batteries and rewired starting system.
All module mild steel brackets and mounting hardware were removed. New chrome moly tabs were made and tig welded in place.
We will need to change the barrel valve in the fuel system to a smaller one for now. Then go run a few passes on alcohol only to get used to the new set-up.
I will try to post a video later tonight of it running:TU: .

Paul as of right now, I am trying to set up my work schedule to be in Norwalk Ohio for the Buick event in May, with the car.
Yes I am very happy with the braided hose we used:TU: .
When we first fired up the car it stayed lit even though it was sending raw alcohol 4+ feet off the pipes. The engine sounded pretty good by the time we had removed as much fuel as possible with the parts we had. At some point next week I will have the last of the parts and will go down the hill to Phoenix to test things out.
As a note about the show last weekend lets just say Buick has a "new" fan named Jack Beckman :Brow:

John, you're going to need a couple phone books to see over that blower, I've got a couple that will do the job. Can you get them thru tech? I just can't get over how awesome that motor looks with the blower. Maybe you can make a clear bug catcher then I can give the phone books to my sister so she can see over the steering wheel. kenny betts

Kenny as long as I can see one tire I should be good. The first few hundred feet it's not like you steer it anyway.:Brow: . I use the track for a sight about 75'+ ahead of the car to line up or aim:laugh: .
I will post a few pictures later today.
