Tom we were just inspected and certified for 6.0 sec. =3 more years till the next one. We have all current chassis/and safety equipment necessary for the near future, when I am sure they will change things again:spank: .
The fuel system is set to flow 50% Nitro to start. The engine is being done to handle 90%. We will be playing with a lot of different fuel and air combos. The supercharger is set to run 1-1 (10-12lbs)but we have the pulleys to go up to 128% overdrive(16-19lbs)

Tom T. We are only running around 8.3 -1 with a thin copper head gaskets.
We can put in a thicker gasket as we increase the load. The pistons are made for the blown nitro application. You can bet the pistons will be checked:beer

Thats good news I thought I was going to need one. I have been thinkin about going with a 8 3/4 what do you think about that.

What kind of HP you think your going to be making?

The 8-3/4 are good, we have one here that I plan on using at some point.

    As for HP =? Torque = a lot+.

We are out to break the Frye brothers top speed of 202 mph in their twin in-line Nailhead dragster.
I am just off of Ivo's time and speed with his single Nailhead dragster, with our injected stock block car.
I must say that having TV Tom in your corner has made building this car a blast.
5 more weeks until we show him the new engine at the California Hot Rod Reunion.
He thinks I'm crazy to run nitro in a Nailhead:rolleyes::grin:

I think you're crazy to run nitro period.
But I like the way you think. :bglasses:

Due to our schedule I will not be able to pick up the parts at Hamptons until Saturday. I will put up pictures as soon as I can.

Tim the good thing about the percentage of Nitro we are running is, it is considered a fuel not a power adder  .

Hey John, what's the best time you got out of the old set up?

    John,
That's a good thing. But I still think you're nuts! :bla:
Front engine + Nitro + putting your "what"-"where" = NUTS!!!

Hope to see you guys soon!

Craig the engine had quite a few issues with the heads, as it turned out we had 13 bent valves, stock cam, and very weak valve springs(most were under 200lbs open pressure) = valve float. Although that is not what caused the bent valves.
    Anyway the best numbers were
    1.09 ---60ft
    3.11 ---330ft
    4.98 ---1/8ET
    135 ---1/8MPH
    9.19 ---1/4ET
    139 ---1/4MPH
I go through the lights at a stagering 5200rpm:rolleyes: (due to valve issues).
Part of the valve issue is being resolved as I am typing, Thanks to Tom Telesco:beer

Tim part of the fun with driving the car is all the people that say you sit with that between your legs:bla:

You are a very bad influence on me. All Iv been thinkin about the last week or so has been how Im going to build my car. I got plans for a 140in wb and I ordered a new NHRA rule book. Next is a tubing bender and some chrome moly tube. I did pick up a 1964 Logge stamping front end with spoke wheels.

I just need to finish my 57 so I can start the Digger

I wish I lived closer I realy want to see it run

Tom I also have a Logghe Stamping Co. car in the shop. The one here is a 155" 1969 front engine dragster. I will be delivering a 1965-66 Woody Gilmore -- Tom Hanna Junior Fuel car in a few weeks to its new owner.
I have a 30' chassis jig in the shop I repair/build them on. It is long enough to put the bent car on and make the new one just in front of it.
Make sure you use a decent tube notcher and bender it will show in the final product.
I will try to finish the the drive spud adapters on Sunday.

We were able to get over to see Don yesterday:beer .
Here are 5 shots of the difference in intakes full race to blown street.
He told me in the beginning that his off the shelf unit (very modified offy intake with his top plate and box) would be very good but not what I was looking for. You can see the difference in the photos. What we received far exceeded our expectations:TU: .
We got home about 1 am today. We went out this morning to our shop and the next post will show how our car was.

Here are some of the shots I know a lot of you have been waiting for:grin:
We just have a little plumbing to do and put the Super Mag IV in as the 1.2 amp Mag is to small for the amount of fuel we use. The engine ended up being 42.5" tall pan to scoop. I can still see both front tires from the seat:TU: .
I also need to get a 3.5" to 4 " fuel pump extension for the fuel pump to be ahead of the belt. This means I will have to cut a 2"x5" area out of the middle of the body panel just ahead of the engine:ball: . All in the name of progress.

That stuff is so cool, can't wait to see it run. We're going out to Speedworld next Saturday night. Hopefully the air will start to cool off a little for some good runs.

Andy I just hope it runs as well as it looks......

Craig I will be delivering a car down to the track announcer on Saturday. I thought I had heard the event would start during the day.
I will not have a car there but we will look for you.

Yeah, I didn't think you'd have the car together yet, but you're certainly getting close :beer Speedworld is running the AZ Fastest Street Cars that evening and a few other groups, I will though check the gate times, I think it's a normal gates open at 6 deal. I'm still off about 0.2 seconds to run their slowest class, so we go out and run the Test & Tune lane because they do good track prep. I'll be parked in the pits with a black ex-Pro Stock Olds Starfire, stop by and say Hi!

425 2X4 Nailhd I will be at Bakersfield with a Logghe dragster this year. I am the caretaker of a friends Estate,it is his car that I will be there in. We will be on display in the grove and as of now part of the Cackle event. I will post a picture of the car so you can find us.
I am trying to have our car done for there. It is just a load of small/ and big parts that need to be hand made. If it is safe and running the "SUPERCAT" will be at the Reunion...

Mike it is looking slim at the moment, to be at BG this fall. I am planning to be there in May. If I can make it work I would like to be there:pray: .

Our race seasons starts in the next few weeks out here:laugh: so we should have all the bugs out by May.

    Craig See you Saturday.
