Hoping I'll be able to get a spot to do it. Might as well give it a try .Who knows if they'd ever come around again.

Jake, I'm pondering taking the '76. The only fly in the ointment is that Friday is the Buick deal at Cecil. Would still be able to make it back to Cecil for Saturday. The only track I haven't been to is Virginia and MIR was a very long time ago. I was hoping that an 11.50 might make it into the 32 "Daily Driver" runoff but these day it looks like you need to be in the 10's and no way my "daily driver" gets a rollbar.

I need to get more info from guys who have done it before. Maybe we can get an East Coast Buick contingent going.

Our Cecil event is the week after drag week. Was posted on Facebook(I know you don't have it) earlier this week. So we're good.

Not big on Facebook but I tried looking at the NE GS/GN and the BPG Facebook but didn't see any dates. I thought I heard the dates were Sept. 13/14. So you're saying the Cecil race is the 20/21st?

Just a reminder for those that are thinking about trying to get into this, registration opens this Saturday 2/23 at 12 pm EST. Last year it sold out in roughly 6 minutes so make sure you have all your info ready when they open registration. I’ll be trying again this year since I didn’t make it with the wagon last year even after getting in. It would be great to get a group of Buicks going this year.

OK Paul. Since you're in the know what is the cost? What info do you need or do you have a direct website with the info?

Then I guess you need to get on the ball about hotels. A lot of people probably already have. Paul, if we both get on I'll have to give you a call. Maybe we'll get a NE GS/GN contingent at least.

Mike, check out Hot Rod’s main page below:

    https://www.hotrod.com/articles/hot-rod-drag-week-registration-2019-save-this-link/

Cost is $395 plus a fee if using a credit card. I think the total was $415 last year. Note this is non refundable and non transferable. So if you don’t make it, you are out of luck. The info you need is on that page as well. Basic info on yourself, car, license plate, insurance, payment, etc. Once the link goes live, it’s a simple form to fill in - it just takes a while to do it when you’re pressed for time.

As for hotels, I made all the reservations through Anthony Travel (link is on that page as well) about a week after I got in. They make it easy after so many years of running Drag Week.

WA HOOO!!!! My son & his friend made it into drag week with a Green '85??? Mustang with turbo LS power. My son completely spec'd this car out & built it in his home garage over a couple winters ago & part of a summer. Best ET so far has been around an 8.3 at around 160MPH IF I remember correctly. I'd LOVE to go & be a part of this Gala, but because of various reasons I can't.
I wish them the BEST & GOOD LUCK!!!!!
My son says it was filled in less than 8 minutes!!!!!

I am in too! Got in within the first 3 minutes. So the wagon will be going this year, hopefully with reliable Procharged power this year with Robsbuick riding shotgun. Anyone else get in? Mike, Jacob? We need a large Buick contingent going since it’s so close to us Northeast guys.

Tom, congrats for your son! We’ll have to look him up and check out that quick Mustang.

    Paul,

The amazing thing is it's a core engine that GM didn't want to fix because of a crack. My son said I CAN fix that. Been running it now for a full season+ so far. It's a completely stock bottom end. He just removed the pistons & opened up the ring end gaps & checked & properly checked for clearances on EVERYTHING else & SO FAR it has held together. Suppose they are doing/have done somethings right. It's amazing to me you pull out the laptop & see what the car/engine are doing & can compensate for conditions. Add a 1/2 or 1 degree here or minus something from there ALL without even getting your hands dirty. More overload info we all never had with no more guessing as we have done in the past.
That would be great if you could make contact with them. We NEED this new generation to be involved to keep OUR LOVE for the sport alive!!!!

I'm going to the doctor on Monday to have my head pan checked! Paul said Saturday at noon and I placed that in the memory bank and then promptly forgot about it until Tom made his post. Needless to say I won't be going. I put my name on the waiting list but that would probably require half the field to decide to drop out. Bummer because I've never raced at Virginia and I've no good reason to go there otherwise. Hopefully they will be staying on the East coast for next year.

I will be coming down to spectate on Tuesday to Cecil. Paul, I'm assuming you'll be going for Street Machine class. Time to get that supercharger working right!

Good news! NOT! I got a notice that I'm between #601 and 700 on the waiting list. Now all I have to do is keep my fingers crossed.;)

I'm on the waiting list as well . I'm between 25-100. Supposedly I heard even if you show up they won't turn you away.

Jacob, you will definitely get in! There are so many people that drop out throughout the year. And I’ve heard the same thing that no one is turned away if you show up. That’s you, Mike! It’s my understanding that they check in all of the registered cars, then the wait listed cars that are onsite and then anyone that has showed up. And I think they have still only gotten in the 370-400 range for number of cars. It’s a long way to go in the hope of getting in, I know but it would be nice to have some Buick company. We’ll talk at the NE spring meeting in a few weeks.

    Good luck all.
Will be at Cecil for Yellowbullet Nationals.
    Labor Day weekend.
There was a good contingent of Buick’s racing last year and hopefully again representing in 2019.
I will be in my Chevelle but my Buick raced in 2017.
Where it earned its new nickname Plan B.
